Ruth Riner-Stuart

Ruth Riner-Stuart

Ruth Riner-Stuart graduated from LSU in 1962 in Psychology and then became a Registered Psychiatric Nurse after completing studies at OLOL School of Nursing. She has lived and worked in Taiwan, California, Texas, North Carolina, and New Orleans. She is also a 2 time cancer survivor.

Always fascinated with the art she saw, she never dreamed she could create it until in her forties when she began to experiment and discovered her passion for learning the skills. She is self taught with lots and lots of trial and error. Ruth illustrated a book of the 175 year history of Baton Rouge’s First United Methodist Church.

Now, in retirement, her goals and purpose have merged into sharing her love for art and bringing her clients joy. Her first painting of Mike VI the Tiger hangs in the Lobby of the Lod Cook Alumni Hotel at LSU.
