“Creativity is intelligence having fun” – Albert Einstein. When I read this quote for the first time it resonated with me deeply. His quote feels like home to me! I have a strong passion for science having been an engineer and a passion for creativity as an artist.
I began painting 6 years ago at the urging of a local artist. She knew that I previously owned a faux finishing business in the Houston area, and she was convinced I could transfer to the canvas. I am forever grateful for her encouragement. Since my first painting, I have taken the opportunity to learn from local artist Claude Houchin, to take online classes from Joan Fullerton, to watch numerous YouTube tutorials, and to simply experiment in my studio. Many of my paintings are inspired by colors and textures in nature, and from music. I have donated art to a White Light Fundraiser for 5 years, ReStore, Derby Day and others. It brings me great joy to create with the purpose of sharing for a cause.
To date, my work has been in mixed media and acrylics. I love to try new things so who knows what the future may bring.
