It is difficult for me to respond when asked “What do you make?” It depends on my mood, available materials, time, and interest. I constantly discover new mediums and experiment in my home studio. Current mediums include alcohol ink, polymer clay, acrylic paint, gesso, oil pastels, and watercolors. I enjoy repurposing wood, tile, glass, brick, and slate. Yes, I do use a traditional canvas on occasion! My focus of the moment is florals, crabs, collage, and abstracts. Art is a passion and hobby. If it does not bring me joy, I search for a new project which will allow me to tap my creative heart.
As mentioned, art is my hobby. I have 28 years of experience as a pediatric Speech Therapist. Currently, I am employed with a local private practice, and watching my patients meet their goals and support their families is why I love this profession. I know which of my little friends are budding artisans and incorporate art into many therapy sessions.
Both art and speech therapy allow me a perfect balance in life. I am grateful beyond measure.
