Mid-City Artisans is committed to Supporting the Arts through education and events for the art loving public and helping Louisiana Artisans be increasingly successful in their craft!

You will have an opportunity to learn along the way. We appreciate your contribution and respect your time so we ask that you only volunteer for what you are comfortable doing.

We have a number of opportunities to volunteer. Check them out below and sign up!

Are you skilled in art? Want to share your knowledge? We need instructors for the wide variety of art classes listed on our website and even new classes. Classes last one to one and a half hours with a few adult classes lasting up three hours. You can choose which age groups and classes you want to lead.

In between classes you can work on your own art, and get tips from our staff Artist.

Kids classes – beginner through advanced

Age 5 – 8

Age 8 – 12

   Weekdays (Tuesday – Friday) 4 pm – 6 pm

   Saturday morning (9 – 12) or afternoon (12 – 4)

   Sundays (11 – 4)

Kids Art Camps – during school breaks and in the summer. Camps are 9 – 12 am & 12:30 – 3:30 pm.

Adult classes (age 13 and up) – beginner through intermediate

Morning classes 10 am – 1 pm

Afternoon classes 12 pm – 4 pm (flexible on exact hours.)

Evening classes 4 pm – 8 pm (open late for classes only)

We also offer advanced Artist taught classes.

Graphic designer needed for a couple hours each week to design and create items. You would use your own software. We have a Cricut that can be used to create vinyl signs. Could work remote after the first couple of weeks.)

Designs and templates are needed for:

Instore signs and flyers to promote classes, products, events, etc.

Outside signs for certain events or gallery in general.

Promotional flyers for events and classes.

Items for kids birthday parties, like stickers, outlines for art project, etc.

Other items as needed.

Digital marketing and social media manager.
Will help plan digital ads and social media posts. After strategy and plan is developed, then help with creation of social media posts. Ad design work can be done by Graphic Designer if needed. Expected effort would be two or three days for first two weeks then about 1-3 hours per week. Could work mostly remote after the first couple of weeks.

Develop a strategy and detailed plan for digital marketing using targeted ads.

Help choose a software platform if needed to design and implement the strategy.

Implement the digital marketing plan

Develop a social media strategy and posting plan.

Help implement the social media posting plan by posting about products, classes,
and events on social media like Instagram, Facebook

Review and develop new strategies to improve the results of our digital strategy.

Volunteers savvy with computers are needed to help maintain our WIX based website and our instore interactive displays. This may require a fair amount of learning time up front for the first one to two weeks. The maintenance effort is likely to be about 2 - 4 hours per week after that. After the training period, most work could be done remotely.
You would:

Catalog and manage images of our artisans works and bio for website
   and interactive display use.

Set up and maintain Instore Interactive Digital Displays for customers to view
Artist’s works by category or artist.

Learn appropriate sections of WIX, our website software.

Import products into the WIX store so products are available for online purchase.

Manage the online products sold offline. (Online sales are self-managed)

Help with entering classes and events on the website.

General website updates

   Add a new member section

   Add a donation section

   Improve the member section

We need multiple volunteers to work in the Gallery throughout the week. Must be able to:

Interact with customers and other artisans,

Learn and discuss the various artisan’s works with customers.

Use the computer to check out sales.

Keep the gallery clean and organized.

We ask for 4 hour shifts on a regular basis, for example, every Tuesday from 10 - 2. Or every other Wednesday from 2 – 6 pm.

The Gallery is open Tuesday through Sunday.

As a non-profit a lot of our funding comes from grants and donations. We need someone experienced with Grant writing and other non-profit funding activities to help guide us and possibly help represent Mid-City Artisans.

We would appreciate any help in this area and would like some initial training of our staff.

We also need someone who could represent us at various events and markets to market our Art Learning Center and some of our artisans.
