Clay & Brass is a ceramic jewelry brand utilizing traditional materials with a modern twist. The company was founded by artist and ceramicist Jaime Normand. The jewelry of Clay & Brass developed from the space limitations of living in New York City. After working her day job as an assistant and glaze specialist at a ceramic tableware company, Jaime would come home and make small beads in her small Brooklyn apartment. There she sculpted, fired, and assembled jewelry pieces in her small Brooklyn bedroom. After relocating to her home state of Louisiana, Jaime continues to expand her ceramic jewelry line surrounded by nature, family, and Cajun culture. All pieces are original handmade designs made mostly from earthenware, brass, gold, and leather. Clay & Brass is passionate about creating pieces that inspire jewelry that are stylish, unique, and versatile. Jaime hopes to create pieces that enhance the natural beauty and confidence of women from all ages and walks of life. Jaime is also an art therapist and works in a private practice in Lafayette.
