Exciting Times

Mid-city Artisans is still growing. We now represent over 115 Artisans in our gallery. We take that responsibility seriously and are doing what we can to market the store and all the different Artisans on social media, advertising in magazines, and search engines. You can help by finding us on social media, give us a like, review, and a share. That will help us tremendously.

We are also planning a number of events to promote the arts and the store in addition to the weekly Meet the Artisans.

We have a Meet and Greet event just for the store artisans to meet each other on July 24 at 3 pm. We will also talk about classes in our new Art Center upstairs in the other building.

Our first Art Day and Poetry Slam is August 7 10am - 6pm. Speaking of which we need a number of poets to register on the website to read their own work. Please tell everyone you know about that. Please come support the poetry. We will also have Artisans doing their thing all day. Each item they make is available in a silent auction with a portion of the proceeds going to charity. There will also be music by Red Night, one of the outstanding bands originating from Baton Rouge Music Studios that played at our grand opening. Boo's BBQ food truck will be there. And, of course, lots of great art in our store.

We will have our first Art Opening on August 27 for Dusty Reed, the Cajun Picasso. The 28th he will be painting in the store all day followed by a Cajun Date Night where you can make art with him and enjoy a nice meal. Sunday he will be teaching a gel plate class. Watch our website for details on both classes.

And, of course, the Kids Makers Market is coming September 11!

We look forward to seeing you at as many events as possible. Come shop Mid-city Artisans and tell all your friends.

Thank you,

George Harris
